-GA Sweet Tea

Growing up in GA, sweet tea was a staple at our house!

Mama's sweet tea was wonderful, but I have to confess, I never really liked my tea, until now!!!
You'll see baking soda on the list, this takes the "bitterness" away!
Also, I make this in my rubbermaid pitcher, but it's very pretty in a glass pitcher.
Perfect for Holiday Meals!

Warning ... this is sweet!!!

GA Sweet Tea

  • 1 pinch baking soda
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 8 tea bags (regular size, not family size)
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 6 cups cool water

    Directions

    1. Sprinkle a pinch of baking soda into a 64-ounce, heat-proof, glass pitcher. Pour in boiling water, and add tea bags. Cover, and allow to steep for 15 minutes.
    2. Remove tea bags, and discard; stir in sugar until dissolved. Pour in cool water, then refrigerate until cold.
