-Japanese Steakhouse White SauceOne of our favorite restaurants is Kobi Japanese Steak House in Orlando, FL.
Anytime we are in the area, we make sure we eat there. I have been trying for a long time to make the "white sauce" that they serve. ** Before you start this recipe, please know that you MUST refrigerate it overnight for it to taste right. **
For the fried rice, I use a package of KIKKOMAN seasoning mix, following the directions on the package.
With the fried rice, you MUST cook the rice and let it cool before you fry it. For the shrimp and vegetables, I use a package of KIKKOMAN stir-fry seasoning mix,
following the directions on the package. I get already cooked shrimp, fresh mushrooms, fresh broccoli, and zucchini squash. For the oil, I use Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Hope you enjoy!!!
JAPANESE STEAKHOUSE WHITE SAUCE
1 1/4 cups Hellmann's mayonnaise
1/4 cup water 1 teaspoon tomato paste 1 tablespoon melted butter 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder 1 teaspoon sugar 1/4 teaspoon paprika dash of cayenne pepper Using a whisk, blend all ingredients together thoroughly until well mixed and the sauce is smooth.
Cover and refrigerate overnight to allow flavors to blend. Bring to room temperature before serving. Please note ... the sauce will NOT taste right if you do not refrigerate overnight!
Also, please do not try substituting ketchup or tomato sauce for tomato paste. And do not substitute low fat or reduced calorie mayonnaise.
